Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, which is used to stop the so-called e-mail spoofing where an e-mail message is sent from one address, but to appear as being sent from another, typically with the purpose to fraud the recipient for some reason. When SPF protection is enabled for a domain name, a special record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers worldwide receive it. The record features all the mail servers that are permitted to send legitimate messages from an e-mail address part of the domain. When an email is sent, the first DNS server it encounters checks the SPF record and if the sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the target destination. If, however, the sending server is not included in the SPF record for the particular domain, the message won't be forwarded and it will be removed. If you employ this solution, it will prevent third parties from sending spam emails that seem to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Shared Website Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for any domain name hosted in a shared website hosting account on our cloud platform with only a couple of mouse-clicks. The feature can be found in the Emails section of our revolutionary Hepsia Control Panel and what is needed to use it is to select one of your domains from the drop-down menu and then type in the hostnames and the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the email servers that will be approved to send messages from your emails. As an additional option you can even restrict the emails to be sent from your domain only if it includes our MX records, in other words if our servers handle the e-mail addresses for it, not some third-party supplier. This feature offers you the highest degree of protection, but it is not applicable if only your site is on our servers while the email addresses for the domain name are managed somewhere else. In either case, the SPF protection service will keep your email addresses risk-free from being used for spam and/or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The SPF protection feature is available with all semi-dedicated hosting plans, so when you host your domains in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you are able to use this service easily for all of your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a really easy to use interface, therefore you do not need to be proficient in the use of computers to protected your emails. You'll only have to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you'd like to be authorized to send out e-mails from your addresses and immediately after that the new record will be active for the domain that you have picked. As an extra option, we'll also give you the ability to control the outgoing e-mail messages and protect your mailboxes even better by allowing e-mail messages to be sent only if the domain in question includes our MX records i.e. the e-mail messages for the domain should be managed by us and not by another provider. In this way you will have even superior control and there won't be a chance for somebody to counterfeit your e-mail addresses for malicious purposes.
