A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to nonexistent addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get emails from acquaintances or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be re-sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

If you’ve got a shared website hosting with us and you would like to activate the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it will take literally only one click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have set up under any domain name registered in your account. You can pick one single address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all email messages sent to mistyped addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. If you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a warning notification and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature until you remove the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel that is included with every semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will allow you to create a catch-all mailbox effortlessly even in case you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All you need to do to accomplish that is click the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each email address that you have created using your domains in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will warn you if you have already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding activated. In case you decide that you do not want this feature any longer, you can disable it by clicking again on the same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
